But considering Edward's conflicted feelings towards Renesmee (at least prior to her birth), I always wondered how he would have reacted the first time he was left alone with her. Also, one of my major issues with Breaking Dawn was that it pretty much contained zero Edward and Renesmee moments. So this is somewhat of a "missing scene" fic, dealing with both those things. But a while ago, I promised a few people that I would have the next chapter of this fic finished by the time season four premiered. There were countless moments where I thought such a goal was impossible to achieve, but two things kept me motivated: firstly, the constant encouragement from my amazing beta, rosie_spleen .
